New hires’ combined expertise in advocacy, social and racial justice, combating extremism, and increasing Jewish communal engagement will serve as assets as NCJW advances its mission to support women, children, and families in a rapidly shifting social landscape. 

WASHINGTON – Today, National Council of Jewish Women (NCJW) announced that it has welcomed two new senior leadership team members: Ellen Buchman, Chief Field Engagement Officer and Amy Aronoff Blumkin, Chief Growth Officer. 

As Chief Field Engagement Officer, Ellen will play a crucial role in developing and implementing field engagement systems and strategies to build and update NCJW’s capacity, expand its network across the country, and enhance the organization’s visibility and impact. As Chief Growth Officer, Amy will focus on organizational strategy and execution from a communications, marketing, development and campaigns lens. 

Amy and Ellen’s expertise, experience, and distinct backgrounds will serve as assets as NCJW advances its mission to support women, children, and families in a rapidly shifting social landscape. 

Ellen Buchman is a social, racial, and gender justice executive who has more than 30 years of experience building coalitions, organizing, and growing non-profit organizations. Ellen has previously served in roles including President of The Opportunity Agenda and Executive Vice President of Field Outreach and Communications of the Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights. 

Amy Aronoff Blumkin is an executive with deep experience in philanthropy, having worked as a consultant and interim executive for Jewish philanthropies. Her background blends Fortune 100 corporate strategy, leadership development, and mission-focused branding and communications. She also previously led the Anti-Defamation League’s Brand and Marketing department, during which she led the organizational rebrand and ADL relaunched their annual Never Is Now summit on antisemitism and hate and achieved record attendance and awareness.
