FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
March 24, 2017, Washington, DC – The National Council of Jewish Women (NCJW) today called the US House of Representative’s failure to repeal the Affordable Care Act just the first victory in the struggle to preserve the nation’s commitment to ensure health care for all. NCJW CEO Nancy K. Kaufman released the following statement:
“NCJW is committed to a faith-inspired moral vision of health care that offers health, wholeness, and human dignity for all. The analysis by the Congressional Budget Office of the repeal bill painted a devastating portrait of the country if it were passed, with millions losing health care and millions more unable to afford it. We will never stop advocating to preserve and improve our nation’s health care system.”
The National Council of Jewish Women (NCJW) is a grassroots organization of volunteers and advocates who turn progressive ideals into action. Inspired by Jewish values, NCJW strives for social justice by improving the quality of life for women, children, and families and by safeguarding individual rights and freedoms.
