Protect reproductive health data!
Since the Supreme Court’s decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, the consequences of apps and websites collecting and storing our personal reproductive health information has skyrocketed. This includes location data, search histories, and reproductive health data collected by period tracking and other health apps. Currently, few federal protections exist to prevent personal reproductive health information from being collected, retained, or disclosed to third parties. With attacks on abortion access increasing, we need urgent action to strengthen digital privacy. The My Body, My Data Act, introduced by Representative Sara Jacobs (D-CA), would create a new national standard to protect personal reproductive health data. Our laws must ensure that everyone can access the health care they need without fear, stigma, or shame.
