Webinar – Why #CourtsMatter to Voting: 2020 Election and Beyond
This month the US Supreme Court decided three blockbuster cases: two concerning partisan gerrymandering (Lamone v. Benisek and Rucho v. Common Cause) and one (Department of Commerce v. New York) that will determine whether the administration can add a citizenship question to the 2020 Census. These rulings will impact the 2020 election, the census, and redistricting for at least the next decade.
On June 27 Suzanne Almeida, Redistricting and Representation Counsel at Common Cause & Niyati Shah, Assistant Director of Legal Advocacy at Asian Americans Advancing Justice | AAJC joined NCJW on a webinar to discuss the impact of these decisions.
