Position Summary

NCJW is seeking a full-time Engagement Associate to join our dynamic Engagement and Leadership team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting our nationwide network of changemakers by providing administrative, programmatic, and communications assistance. This position requires adaptability, as we are currently implementing a significant growth model, and the ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced and sometimes unpredictable environment. Applicants should possess a commitment to equity and justice for women, children, and families in the United States and Israel. The ideal candidate will be values-driven, agile, curious, and approachable with a deep appreciation for the history and lived practices within Jewish tradition, culture, identities, community, and the issues and diverse communities for which NCJW advocates.

In the immediate future, this position reports to the Director of Engagement and Leadership. NCJW is currently working in a hybrid environment, but will consider remote candidates.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the Engagement and Leadership team, including scheduling meetings, coordinating field visits, and creating and maintaining systems to track and monitor field communications
  • Offer technical assistance to field leaders, utilizing CRM systems and evaluating data to optimize engagement strategies
  • Assist with field communications efforts, including: setting internal and external communications schedules, tracking communications from the field, sourcing and drafting content, coordinating the monthly leadership newsletter editing process, collaborating with NCJW communications teams to elevate section content, and coordinating content for the NCJW section hub
  • Support a range of field engagement events and programs by assisting with the facilitation of virtual meetings and leadership trainings; leading cohort discussions, managing the logistics for in-person gatherings, and preparing NCJW leaders for speaking engagements and meetings
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, partners, and field leaders to support NCJW’s mission, acting as a primary contact for field leaders and advocates, and facilitating their connection with resources and colleagues.
  • Manage and curate an online library of resources, oversee the collection and organization of key documents (membership lists, leadership lists, Bylaws, 990s), and ensure the accuracy of membership data in the National database.
  • Drive participation in campaigns and programs by directly engaging Sections, and contributing to cross-departmental projects and other duties as needed.

Qualifications 

Required:

  • 1-2 years of experience working or volunteering in a grassroots organization.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral, with some experience coordinating communications, and creating and curating content 
  • Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of or experience in curating resources and managing the collection and organization of key documents.
  • Interest and ability to learn new software and communication tools quickly as required by the position.
  • Commitment to progressive change and racial justice, with an understanding of the challenges and opportunities in working within a diverse environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as Communications, Social Sciences, or Public Administration, or equivalent professional experience.

Preferred:

  • Experience managing databases, and/or proficiency with CRM systems and data analysis tools.
  • Track record of successfully engaging with stakeholders, partners, and field leaders to support organizational missions.
  • Experience in a nonprofit or advocacy organization, particularly those focused on social justice, women’s rights, or community engagement.
  • Familiarity with leadership development programs and strategies to support emerging leaders within a network.

Salary and Benefits

Salary range: $60,000 – $70,000 — commensurate with experience
